The Basics of Double Cleansing
Oil then foam — remove everything without stressing the skin.
Why two steps?
Makeup and sunscreen are oil-based; sweat and dead skin are water-based. Because they differ, two steps clean more effectively.
The steps
- Massage in a cleansing oil to dissolve oil-based grime
- Rinse with lukewarm water
- Lather a face wash to lift water-based residue
Hot water dries skin out — use lukewarm water.
